Obituary for Byron Emerson Keighley

Byron Emerson Keighley
BYRON EMERSON KEIGHLEY

In the early morning of September 22, 2017, after a short and courageous fight with cancer, we lost someone dearly loved. Byron Emerson Keighley, age 40, passed away with his family by his side, holding him close.

Anyone that met Byron could not help but walk away with a smile on their face. He will be remembered for his kind soul, sarcastic, quick sense of humour and his playful demeanor. Byron loved listening to music on his extensive LP collection, playing darts, pool and poker, and following his favourite hockey team, the Montreal Canadiens.

He will forever be remembered by his loving wife Kristy, mother Lorraine, sister Becky (Darren), grandmother Etta Peel, in laws Tim and Kim Binmore, brother in law Adam and his best friend since childhood, Cory Legarde. Byron also leaves behind family and friends too numerous to name. Byron was predeceased by his father Bill and his grandparents.

Thank you to the doctors and nurses of the oncology ward at Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Center. Byron’s stay in your expert charge was brief but the unending kindness and compassion expressed to him and his family will be remembered fondly.

A Celebration of Byron’s Life will be held on Sunday, October 1st at Branch 5 Legion, 229 Van Norman Street from 1:00pm – 4:00pm. Should friends desire, donations in Byron’s memory to the Northern Cancer Fund would be greatly appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
