Obituary for Gilbert Joseph Lauzier

Gilbert Joseph Lauzier
Gilbert Lauzier
June 19, 1944- October 14, 2017

It is with great sadness, for the family of Gilbert Joseph Lauzier of Thunder Bay to announce his passing following an extensive battle with
various health related issues. One of 12 brother and sisters, Gilbert was born June 19th, 1944 to Joseph and Terese Lauzier in Rimouski,
Quebec.
Gilbert dedicated his entire life working in the pulp and paper industry throughout Northwestern Ontario. For the past 30 years, Gilbert
and his companion Irene Pattiea enjoyed spending their quality time together doing what they loved most. Both had a tremendous passion
for gardening, cheering their favorite NHL teams, watching the Toronto Blue Jays and visiting the local casinos.
Sadly, Gilbert was predeceased by Irene (Oct. 20/2013), as well as his loving parents.
Gilbert is survived by his 3 children Harold (Carol Ann) Lauzier, Sonia (Sean) Agnello, Ivan (Tanya) Lauzier, his grandchildren
(Summer Lauzier, Caiden Lauzier, Olivia Agnello and Anthony Agnello), siblings (Germain, Isidore, Helene, Marielle, Christian, Jean-Paul, Georgette,
Rachel, Patrice, Robert, Adrienne) along with their spouses and children. Although this is very difficult for the family, we all know in our hearts
he is very happy to be reunited with Irene and that he is no longer suffering.
Heartfelt thanks to all the doctors and nurses at the TBRHSC for their dedicated care and compassion, to Dr. Lai and his team at the Curan
Heart Centre, to all the doctors and nurses at the Thunder Bay Regional Cancer Care and for all efforts made by the team at the
Community Care Access Centre.
A private graveside ceremony will take place for immediate family on Thursday, October 19th, 2017 at the Riverside Cemetery.
In Lieu of flowers, the family would sincerely appreciate any donations made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
