Obituary for Mr. Terence Hugh "Terry" Peet

Terence Peet

Terence Hugh Peet, July 26, 1933/February 21, 2018 in Thunder Bay Regional Hospital.
Affectionately known as 'Terry' or 'Toe', he was predeceased by parents Ruth and Jack and siblings Margaret(Peg) Marshall (Dave, deceased) and Cam (Jonathon, Garth and Kathryn). Survived by oldest brother Jack (Susan) of Winnipeg, Patricia-'Pat' of Stittsville, Ontario and Drummond (Carol - deceased) of Midland, Ontario, good friend and confidante Larry of Thunder Bay, and numerous nieces and nephews upon whom he doted. Many thanks to the dear people who provided years of loyal friendship and support, particularly "The Breakfast Club". Deep gratitude is owed to Linda Dell who provided 24/7 care to enable Terry to remain in his own home these past 2 years.
Born in The Pas, Manitoba, moved to Geraldton Ontario, with family in 1935. Attended Little Long Lac Public School and Geraldton High School. Terry mined in various underground settings in Geraldton and Elliot Lake before attending Western University in London, Ontario and graduating with an Honours B.A. in 1963. Thereafter he taught High School at Sir Winston Churchill in Fort William until his retirement in 1988.
A dog lover and trainer, a voracious history buff, an expert on the life of Sir Winston Churchill, a curmudgeon, a lover of humour, a mentor to many nieces, nephews and cousins, he was well loved and vigorously debated.
As he would put it, "I now know" i.e.... what's on the other side.
Any contributions might be channelled to Thunder Bay and District Humane Society.
Cremation has taken place; a celebration of his unique life will be held in the Spring.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Simpler Times Cremation Centre, 332 North May Street, Thunder Bay.
