Obituary for Ms. Judy Lynne Cormier (Forshaw)

Ms. Judy Lynne Cormier (Forshaw)
JUDY CORMIER

Judy Lynne Cormier, age 74 years, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 11, 2018 in the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, with her family and friends by her side.

Born Judy Lynne Forshaw in Chilliwack B.C. to wonderful parents Jesse and James Forshaw. It was an era of Hi-Y, Brownie groups and Sunday school, which she enjoyed enthusiastically and from all of which she has wonderful memories. She work as a nurse for 30 years but mostly she worked hard at being mother/grandmother and friend. With her son’s hockey bag over her shoulder, and warm boots on our feet, we would all walk to Delany arena. She was a proud supporter of her family and she was the biggest cheerleader for anyone of us. Retirement was her sweet spot. Traveling with Steve Drabit, lunches with her girlfriends, trips to Gurney and relentless updates on her grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Judy is survived by her son Dan Cormier (Beth), daughter Ellen Slongo (Tim), grandchildren Charlotte and Marie Cormier, Paul and Phillip Slongo, sibling John Forshaw (Sharron) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by Jim and Jesse Forshaw, sister Molly Caron, brother Tom Forshaw and grandson Jean Charles Cormier.

The family would like to thank everyone who has offered condolences and assistance in the last few months especially her dear friend Riitta.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 11:00 am in St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church (207 Brodie St. South). Reception to follow. The family asks you to honour Judy by writing a letter to our member of parliament and ask for anything you think will improve our beautiful city of Thunder Bay.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the Westfort Chapel, 420 West Gore Street at James.
