Mr. Gary Julian Prosser, age 79 years, passed away peacefully in St. Joseph's Hospice on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 following a brief battle with cancer.

Born in Birmingham, England on January 24, 1939 he came to Canada at the age of 17 and worked on his sister's farm, John and Irene Grant. He then worked in the bush camps, and in early years was very active in the Kinsmen Club.

An entrepreneur, Gary owned or co-owned and operated Deluxe Signs, Lakeview Motel, Black Bay Confectionery, Silver Islet Store, G & L Hot Take Out Foods, Black Bay Janitorial Services, L & G Variety, GP Movie Rentals, Kaylee's Bed and Breakfast (the last venture was named after his granddaughter).

Survived by his son Gary (Tara); grandchildren Kaylee, Samuel and Benjamin; nephews Brian Grant (Gladys), Shawn Grant, Marlo Pero; sisters Rita Harkinson, Muriel Tandy, Jeannette Foster (UK); brothers Douglas Prosser (UK), Ken Prosser (Nanaimo, B.C.), long time friend Larry Kurec; numerous nieces and nephews in the UK and in Canada.

Predeceased by his parents William and Anne Prosser; brothers Raymond, Carl, Morse and John; sister Irene.

Cremation has taken place. A private celebration of life and interment will be held at a later date.

Thank you to the TBRHSC Emergency staff for their excellent care, the Lung Diagnostic Assessment Team, TBRHSC Cancer Clinic Team SJCG Hospice Team for their excellence in service, putting patients first, accountable, with respect, with care, compassion and commitment.
