Obituary for Mrs.Marlene Lisa Quequish (Kenequanash)

MARLENE LISA QUEQUISH

Mrs. Marlene Lisa Quequish, age 45 years, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 20, 2022. She took her last breath at 11:16 am with her family by her side at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre.

Marlene was born on March 15, 1977 in Sioux Lookout and grew up in Weagamow Lake. She was a hard worker throughout her life and worked as the Health Director in her community. She met the love of her life, Matthew Quequish, early in life, starting their family when they were just 15 years old and spending over 25 years together. Marlene enjoyed being outdoors, camping and practicing traditional ways of living but above all else, family was her greatest passion. She loved spending time with her children, grandkids, nieces and nephews.

Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Matthew; beloved children Justine (River), Hunter and Pehya; cherished grandchildren Elaina and Daniel; mother Lucy Adams (Billy Thompson); siblings Julie, Floyd (Connie), Jennifer (Brad), Geraldine, Candice (Chad) and Rachel (John) and her sisters at heart, Crystal (Tony), Modena (Jason), Tracy Sakakeep and her best friend Kezia (Matthew) Petawanick. She is also survived by her parents-in-law Jerry and Edna Quequish, grandfather-in-law Steven Kenequanash; brothers-in-law and sister-in-law Jeff (Rose), Ramona (Greg), Brad and Kenny as well many numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.

She was predeceased by her beloved son Sydney Kenequanash (Nov. 1, 2012), father Zebulon Kenequanash, sisters Charlene Kenequanash and Monica Kenequanash; uncle Morris Kenequanash; and her grandparents Alec Kenequanash, Juliet Kenequanash, Tommy Adams and Eva Adams.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James Street, Thunder Bay.
