Obituary for Mrs. Dawn Livingstone Schibler (McDermot)

DAWN SCHIBLER

The Schibler family sadly announces the passing of our loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, in her home with family by her side, on Tuesday, January 17, 2023.

Dawn will be deeply missed by her 5 children, Shawn (Billie), Michelle (Ernie Grach), Tannis, Roxanne (Mitch Backx) and Andrea (Callum MacKendrick), her 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren as well as her sister, Rhoda Perry and numerous nieces and nephews, her neighbours and friends.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Leonard as well as her parents and siblings Betty, Shirley, Neil, Lorne and Bruce.

Dawn was born in Winnipeg. She and Len were married in 1954, celebrating over 60 years of marriage. She dedicated her life to her family, enjoying the many celebrations they shared. Dawn was an active member of her church, working in the kitchen, gathering and distributing food for the church's Food Cupboard, was a member of Mother's Union, Altar Guild, was a Sunday School teacher and mentor. Drawing and gardening were Dawn's passions, and she enjoyed a good round of Golf. Bird watching from their kitchen window is one of the activities we fondly remember she and Len sharing.

The family extends many thanks to all those who helped Dawn, giving their time and friendship, their care and showing their compassion through the years, especially those who helped her daily and in her final days.

Funeral Services for Dawn will be held on Wednesday, January 25, 2023 at 2:00pm in St. Thomas Anglican Church. Interment will take place at a later date in Winnipeg.

In lieu of flowers, a donation made to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. This spring, when at your garden centre, find a plant to enjoy in memory of Dawn.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James.
