Obituary for Mrs. Nancy Ruth Johnston (Hurst)

Mrs. Nancy Ruth Johnston (Hurst)
Nancy Johnston
October 20, 1944 - May 31, 2018

Nancy Johnston (nee Hurst) passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 31, 2018 after a long struggle with COPD, surrounded by family and friends.

Nancy is survived by her 105 year old mother Hilda Hurst; husband of 56 years Dennis; brother Bill Hurst (Doris); son Gary (Helen) and daughter Donna Dolski (Darrell) as well as her grandchildren Owen, Erin, Tyler and Danielle. Special thanks to brother-in-law Greg (Merilyn) Johnston and sister-in-law Geraldine (Marvin) Vantaa for their continuous support.

She was predeceased by her father Herbert Hurst.

Nancy worked for many years at Walter Brown Jewellers as an engraver prior to her and Dennis opening D & D World of Video. They worked side by side for 30 + Years where their customers were also their friends.

Many thanks to the numerous friends from across Canada for their love and support. We would also like to thank the staff at the Regional Hospital for all they did for mom and our family.

Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Nancy Johnston will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 2:00pm in the WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James. A private interment will take place in Mountainview Cemetery at a later date. Visitation for family and friends will be held on Friday evening from 6:00pm until 9:00pm in the Chapel.

Since mom loved animals so much, we ask that any donations, in lieu of flowers, be made to the Thunder Bay and District Humane Society in her name.

Mom, you many be gone from our sight... but you are never gone from our hearts.
